GSA
The Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a group of students committed to making Acton High a safe and inclusive environment for everybody, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. Our group focuses on social justice and works to raise awareness about a variety of LGBT+ issues. Some of our activities include bake sales, movie nights, attending conferences, and educating staff. This club is a great opportunity for students to get connected, learn more about social justice, and get involved in school events. Please see Ms. Pattison for more details.
White Pine Reading Club
Do you like to read? The White Pine Book Club meets once a week after school in our library for snacks, fun activities and discussions about the best Canadian fiction and non-fiction books nominated by the Ontario Library Association each year. Students have the opportunity to vote for their favourite books and attend the OLA's Festival of Trees field trip in May to Harbourfront Centre in Toronto where the winning authors are announced. Concert Band
This extracurricular group is for students in grades 10 -1 2 and meets Thursdays after school from 3:30-4:45. Students will perform in both a winter and spring concert, compete in a few festivals and competitions throughout the year, and participate in various social events. Interested grade 9 students are welcome to audition. Please note it is recommended that Grade 9 students wishing to participate in Concert Band be enrolled in Grade 9 Music so that they develop the neccessary skills to participate.

Jazz Band
This group, made up of students in grades 10 - 12, meets Mondays after school from 3:30-4:45. Repertoire for this group explores the genres of rock, jazz and funk. Students will perform in both a winter and spring concert, compete in a few festivals and competitions throughout the year, and participate in various social events. Students who particpate in this ensemble must also be members of Concert Band. Interested grade 9 students are welcome to audition. Please note it is recommended that Grade 9 students wishing to participate in Jazz Band be enrolled in Grade 9 Music so that they develop the neccessary skills to participate.

Concert Choir
This group rehearses on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 4:45. All singers are welcome, no experience needed! We welcome singers of all voice types. Students will perform in both a winter and spring concert, compete in a few festivals and competitions throughout the year, and participate in various social events.

Reach For the Top - Senior and Intermediate Teams
What Prime Minister was the first French Canadian? Or…What is the second perfect number? If you said “Wilfred Laurier” and “28” you have qualified to be a member of the senior school reach team. We are made up of grade 11 and grade 12 students who answer trivia questions of all kinds and then compete with other schools from around Halton. Meet times are TBD for this semester. Talk to Mr. Brown for more info.

Wilderness Club
The Acton High School Wilderness Club runs two extended trips. In the winter we run theWinter Ecology and Winter Survival Trip which runs for 3 days. This trip involves a lot of hands on learning and identification of weather, geology, and animals.

Games Club
Games club is currently meeting Thursdays after school in room 306. We play Magic: The Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, Hearthstone, or whatever games students are in to. Contact Mr. Smith for more details.
Improv Club
The improv club meets every Tuesday at 3:40 in the drama room. New members are always welcome. Come out and have some fun! See Mrs. Ross for more details.
Art Club
The Art Club meets each Tuesday, after school, until 5:00 pm. Acton High School students are welcome to join at any time during the school year. We do a variety of activities including: drawing, painting, clay sculpture, metal embossing and jewellery making. See Ms. Adlam for more details.
